Contact lenses are a convenient and long term solution for vision correction, for both near and far sightedness. At Dr. Dhaliwal and Associates, we offer a variety of all the latest and newest brands in contact lenses. Our doctors personally conduct each contact lens fitting and examination to ensure all patients are receiving proper eye health care and assist you in finding a personalized and comfortable lens fit.

Why Do I Need a Contact Lens Fit and/or Teaching Appointment?

Patients often inquire about how their glasses prescription differs from their contact lens prescription. The prescription obtained from an eye examination cannot be applied to contact lenses, which require a separate service known as Contact Lens Fitting.

The fitting process is extremely vital to find the proper pair of lenses that fit your eye shape, eye health and lifestyle⁠; using improperly fitted lenses can be very dangerous. It’s important to take the time to test and confirm your fit to avoid any possible eye health issues. When the best possible fit is determined by the doctor, the teaching appointment ensures that new lens wearers are familiar with the proper application/removal and maintenance of contact lenses, providing the best health care for your eyes.

This appointment is an exciting part for new lens wearers as it is the final step before independent lens wearing at home. We hope that these appointments build an important relationship between our practice and our patients, as we are always ready to offer professional advice and support.

After much reflection, I have made the decision to close my optometry practice. It has been an honor and a privilege to be a part of your eye care journey over the years. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for the trust and loyalty you have shown me.

As I transition out of practice, my top priority is ensuring that you continue to receive the highest standard of care. That’s why I am pleased to inform you that I have entrusted your ongoing eye care to Dr. Arif Surani. Dr. Surani is a highly skilled and compassionate optometrist who is deeply committed to delivering the same quality of care you have come to expect. He is supported by a dedicated team focused on creating a welcoming and comfortable experience for every patient.

To make your transition to Dr. Surani as seamless as possible, I have transferred your medical records to his office. This will ensure that your eye care history is preserved and that your future care remains consistent and uninterrupted.

Dr. Surani’s practice is conveniently located in my former office within Lime Ridge Mall, at 999 Upper Wentworth Street in Hamilton, next to Pearle Vision.
